Nissan Australia has jumped on board the 5-year warranty plan, announcing today that all of its new vehicles purchased by private buyers will receive the coverage.
The coverage is extended from the outgoing 3-year/100,000km warranty, to a new 5-year/unlimited kilometre plan. It includes complimentary roadside assistance during the warranty period. Stephen Lester, Nissan Australia managing director, said:
“Five year warranty provides our customers with both confidence in the Nissan brand and our vehicles. Nissan is committed to delivering the best total ownership experience, and whether its sales, service or finance, warranty plays an important role in delivering complete customer satisfaction.”
The coverage is applied to all new models in the showroom, including the new LEAF (pictured) which goes on sale here in August.
Five-year warranty is fast-becoming the new standard in the industry, following a number of other big-name carmakers offering this coverage. Recent brands to jump on board include Toyota, Subaru, Mazda, Holden and Ford. Kia remains the leader, however, offering 7-year/unlimited kilometre warranty for its vehicles.
