About Us

Performance Drive is an Australian automotive website driven by a team of passionate car enthusiasts and seasoned automotive journalists. We get behind the wheel of all types of cars from performance, luxury and sports vehicles to 4WDs, work utes and family sedans. Doing so allows us to deliver a unique, unbiased opinion on everything from handling and power to comfort and economy.

Our expert news and reviews on PerformanceDrive.com.au and our PDriveTV YouTube Channel includes quality video test drives, in-depth articles, interviews, performance data and much more. They’re all designed to serve one purpose and that’s to put our readers and viewers virtually in the driving seat.

Established in 2011, and backed by Firstmac Group, Performance Drive has built a fast growing following of young professionals and motoring enthusiasts of all ages. It’s the place motoring enthusiasts come for industry news, scoops, buying advice, and in-depth car reviews.

Available online, mobile and tablet, it’s one of the first stops potential buyers come when they are researching a new car.

The people behind Performance Drive:

Brett is the editor and founder of Performance Drive. He's obsessed with driving, having played with Matchbox cars until he was tall enough to drive a real one. After initially working as a mechanic, Brett earned a degree in journalism and entered media as an editorial assistant at Top Gear Australia magazine. He then worked at CarAdvice.com.au. His dream is to live next door to the Nurburgring in Germany.

Alexi is a contributing news journalist and junior road tester at Performance Drive. He has a passion and appreciation for the engineering in cars, as well as new technologies that lessen the impact on the environment. His dream cars are an M3 to drive to work, and a LaFerrari for the weekend.

Josh is one of the original co-founders of Performance Drive. His expertise is car culture and aftermarket performance. He was the editor at Hot4s Magazine, and has since worked at Fast Fours, Zoom, and as a journalist at The Project Group.

Mark is a contributing road tester at Performance Drive. With the soul and background of an IT nerd, Mark especially appreciates technology advances, safety, and attention to detail. His first car was a rusty powder blue 1972 Volvo 144 sedan. When he's not road testing vehicles, his daily drive is still a Volvo only now it's able to steer and brake all by itself.

Harrison is a finance journalist with a keen interest in cars, the car loan market, and industry rumours. He loves 1980s BMWs, and persists with driving a manual even while living in inner-city Brisbane.

Ben leads the car buying team at Performance Drive. He is an avid 4x4 enthusiast, and very keen to help out with PD's off-road tests. He also enjoys researching new cars and following industry news. His daily drive is a modified Nissan Patrol which some day he hopes to turbocharge.
