Video: Toyota GT 86 with 5.0-litre V8 conversion from IS F

For the BRZ/GT 86 fans who feel the new coupe is down on power, perhaps this is something more like it. It’s a Toyota GT 86 with a 5.0-litre V8 engine conversion.

It was set up by Japanese drift expert Max Orido, and it will be used purely for drift – as you can see in the videos below. Power no longer comes from a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated boxer engine with 147kW.

Instead, it’s got the 5.0-litre V8 from the Lexus IS F. It’s unknown if the unit has been tuned by any extent, however, in standard form it produces 311kW of power and 505Nm.

By the sounds of it, it does feature a sports/racing exhaust system of some kind.

Take a look at the videos below. What an awesome machine.
