Porsche-Martini reunite for 150th anniversary with 911 GT3 Cup car

Those familiar will Porsche’s motorsport history will instantly recognise the Martini Racing livery. It’s been years now since the two companies paired up, so to reunite and to celebrate Martini’s 150th anniversary, a special Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car has been made.

2013 Martini Racing Porsche 911 GT3 Cup

Wearing a distinct Martini Racing colour scheme using the classic design and colours, the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car will compete in the opening round of the Mobil 1 Supecup series at Barcelona next week.

To make it more exciting, the car will be driven by nine-time World Rally Champion Sebastien Loeb. He will drive the car for the first two races, in Catalunya (12 May) and Monte Carlo (26 May), while another driver – likely very famous – will take over for the third race at Monza, Italy (September 8).

Jonas Krauss, head of Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, recently spoke about the synergy between the two companies, saying,

“From the first day the beloved stripes of Martini Racing decorated a Porsche 906 in 1968, the illustrious pairing has gone on to claim some of motorsport’s most coveted titles, including numerous Le Mans 24 hours titles, during what is now considered to be a classic period of motorsport.

“We’re excited to be once again partnering with Martini in its 150 anniversary year.”
