Nissan Australia is announcing a pair of new special edition versions of the Navara to help spice up the range, with the launch of the Silverline and the Black Edition.
The Silverline is based on the SL dual-cab, while the Black Edition is based on the ST variant. These come following popular demand of the ST-X N-Sport announced last year, with all 500 examples selling out not long after its release.
For the SL Silverline, Nissan has fitted a range of enhancements, including 16-inch alloy wheels which replace the standard steel items. There’s also a polished sports bar in the tray area, a mobile phone holder inside, and dedicated Silverline badges.
Going for the ST-based Black Edition adds a lot more to the popular ute. It features black 18-inch alloy wheels with all-terrain tyres, a black sports bar and wheel arch flares, black nudge bar, and black front grille and side mirrors. A soft tonneau cover, LED light bar, protective tub-liner and a smoked bonnet protector are also part of the package.
Nissan is planning to offer just 900 examples of each of the special editions, available from October 1. Both come with the 2.3-litre twin-turbo four-cylinder diesel engine producing 140kW and 450Nm. The Black Edition is available in five colours, while the Silverline is available in four colours. Speaking about the two, Nissan Australia managing director, Stephen Lester, said:
“The market has spoken and it wants more accessory options on their favourite Nissan. The Navara ST-X N-Sport model was popular, and the recent X-TRAIL, Pathfinder and 370Z Black Editions have helped build our brand presence and increase vehicle enquiry.”
Prices for the special edition models start from the following (excluding on-road costs), with both a six-speed manual and seven-speed auto available.
