The guys behind the ballistic Gumpert Apollo hypercar have released a little teaser image of the upcoming model. It will be unveiled at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show in March.
From the silhouette, it looks like Gumpert’s next model will feature a very similar body as the Gumpert Apollo. There’s the huge front guards which also form the pumped out wheels arches, and the trademark air scoop mounted on the roof.
Whether this is an all-new model or simply a Gumpert Apollo or Tornante ‘Super Sport’ of sorts is unknown. Gumpert has released a bit of a statement saying that testing of the new model was recently carried out at the Altenburg airport, saying it put off an “unmistakable” sound.
No specific details of the engine have been revealed yet, but if it’s anything like the current Apollo’s setup, with its 4.2-litre twin-turbo Audi V8, there’s going to be a huge amount of power on offer.
The current Apollo is available in three engine settings; Base model with 478kW; Sport model with 515kW; and the Race model with 588kW.
