Besides the Detroit Motor Show, one of the first events on the automotive calendar for 2017 is the Tokyo Auto Salon, every January. This is where auto manufacturers and aftermarket specialists alike wheel out their latest enhanced creations.

Mazda has given the CX-3 and less-than-a-month-old second-gen CX-5 a tasteful working over with the ‘Custom Style’ package, ready to debut at the event.

Both SUVs are finished in gunmetal grey, with subtle spoiler extensions that incorporate a chrome strip. This extends into the side skirts and all the way into the rear bumper before it terminates at the twin exhaust tips. The CX-3’s polished metal strip sits atop its exhaust and extends across the rear.

Other additions include different wing mirrors, illuminated scuff plates, height adjustable suspension, and brake calipers painted black. Both projects have slightly upgraded interiors as well. The CX-5 also has unique 20-inch alloys shod with 245/45 R20 tyres.

The Tokyo Auto Salon runs from January 13-15, 2017. We can’t wait to bring you all the exciting coverage from the show. It’s unknown at this stage if Mazda is planning to launch these enhancements on the market via dealerships.
