Just before the high-performance Lexus RC F arrives in Australia, the local arm has introduced the RC 350. It’s the company’s first mid-size coupe to hit the local market.

2014 Lexus RC 350 F Sport

The new Lexus RC 350 is Lexus’s answer to vehicles such as the Audi A5 and the BMW 4 Series, bringing modern Japanese coupe styling to the mid-size premium segment for the first time.

It’s being launched in three trim levels Down Under, consisting of the Luxury, the F Sport, and topping out at the Sports Luxury. All are available with an Enhancement Pack except for the top Sports Luxury, packing together a variety of desirable features.

All models share the same 3.5-litre naturally aspirated V6 petrol engine producing 233kW of power and 378Nm of torque. This is matched up to an eight-speed sports automatic transmission with rear-wheel drive. F Sport models also get dynamic rear-wheel steering.

Standard equipment for the Luxury includes a 10-speaker audio system with a seven-inch multimedia display, sat-nav, digital radio, a rear-view camera, four-way power adjustable steering column, power front seats, and 18-inch alloy wheels. The Enhancement Pack 1 adds a moonroof.

On top of the Luxury features, the F Sport adds a range of sporty trimmings including unique body parts, 19-inch alloy wheels, adaptive variable suspension, a 17-speaker audio system, blind-spot assistance with cross-traffic alert, and various F Sport interior appointments.

The F Sport is available with the Enhancement Pack 2, which includes lane departure warning, active cruise control, pre-collision safety, a moonroof, auto high beam headlights, and a smart key card.

Lastly, the Sports Luxury adds to the Luxury grade adaptive variable suspension, semi-aniline leather upholstery, active cruise control, lane departure warning, and a unique ‘Shimamoku’ interior ornamentation.

The new model is now available from Lexus dealerships across the country. Prices start from the following, excluding on-road costs.
