Infiniti’s hottest rear-drive coupe flagship has arrived to take on the BMW 440i and Mercedes-AMG C 43 Coupe, while coming in at a much lower price.
The Q60 Red Sport bows from $88,900, which compares favourably to the C 43’s $105,615 and the 440i’s $99,990. There’s also the all-wheel drive Audi S5 from $105,800.
Powering the Red Sport is the 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 found in the Q50 Red Sport sedan. It develops 298kW and 475Nm, with the latter coming on stream between 1600rpm and 5200rpm.
Styling-wise you can tell it apart thanks to 19-inch alloys with 355mm front and 350mm rear brakes poking behind them with red calipers. It also comes with a discreet bodykit with lip spoilers front and rear.
Inside a 13-speaker Bose Performance Series audio system brings the world’s first 10-inch sub-woofers to a production car.
It gets the firm’s ‘Direct Adaptive Steering’ steer-by-wire system and a suite of safety features including; forward collision detect, autonomous emergency braking, surround-view camera and pedestrian-detection braking. Electronically controlled dampers are also standard.
A more affordable, $70,900 2.0-litre Q60 Sport Premium is also being announced. It utilises a 2.0-litre turbo motor making 155kW/350Nm. It sits above the entry-level Q60 GT which is priced from $62,900. (All prices mentioned exclude on-road costs.)
