Some revealing images have surfaced online showing the new 2016 Hyundai Elantra in full for the first time before its official debut.
Looking a little bit like a Tesla Model S from the front, the 2016 Elantra will be Hyundai’s latest small to mid-size sedan. And thanks to these images, taken in the factory on the production line, we get a first look.
As you can see Hyundai is going for a more upmarket design theme, with intricately detailed headlights with LEDs, a large yet sophisticated front grille in titanium chrome, and a sporty lower spoiler-like lip with aggressive corner fog light clusters.
Around at the back are a set of LED taillights matching a similar horizontal shape as the headlights, horizontal contour lines to accentuate width and stance, and a neat black diffuser-like section underneath.
No further details have been revealed in terms of engine specs, but it is expected to come with the company’s latest 1.6-litre turbo-petrol motor featured in the Tucson, at least in upper variants. In the SUV output peaks at 130kW and 265Nm.
A full debut is anticipated very soon considering the first examples have already rolled off the production line. Hyundai Australia has confirmed the new model will arrive on the local market in 2016.
