Video: Tesla Model S P90D Ludicrous mode has Easter egg

It seems Tesla has a bit of a sensor of humour, in a Google kind of way. Yep, the electric vehicle producer has fit at least one ‘Easter egg’ in the new P90D with the Ludicrous Speed pack.

In the world of internet and Google, Easter eggs are little hidden surprises that pop up where you least expect them. Like when you try to get directions from Beijing to Tokyo on Google Maps, Google used to suggest to “jet ski across the Pacific Ocean”.

With the new Tesla and its optional Ludicrous Speed pack, arriving in Australia later this year, users can hold down the Ludicrous button to reveal a special Star Trek-style animation, showing warp speed in outer space.

It’s always fun when big serious companies have surprises like this. Check it out in the video below.
