Italy’s Raging Bull brand is showing no signs of letting off the throttle, with Lamborghini reporting its strongest quarter in deliveries ever, driven by the skyrocketing popularity of the Urus SUV.

For the first quarter of 2023, Lamborghini delivered a total of 2623 vehicles. That’s 84 more vehicles than last quarter and the most vehicles it’s ever delivered in the first three-month period of the year. Of that figure, the Urus made up nearly two-thirds of Lamborghini’s overall deliveries, accounting for 1599 units in total.

In terms of finances, Lamborghini’s turnover increased 22.8 per cent to 728 million euros, while operating incomes jumped a massive 35.7 per cent to 260 million.

Lamborghini says that its order books stretch out well into 2024, with the company expecting its record-breaking results to continue as the Revuelto flagship hits the market.

Moving forward, Lamborghini has confirmed that the entirety of its lineup will feature a hybrid powertrain by the end of 2024, in what the company calls its ‘Direzione Cor Tauri’ or ‘Direction of the Bull’ transition. CEO, Stephan Winkelmann, said:

“2023 will go down in Lamborghini as a landmark period in our history, and starting off our anniversary with these figures can only make us proud.”

He added: “2023 marks the start of the second stage of the ‘Direzione Cor Tauri’ program, the most important investment plan in the company’s history, which will help Lamborghini to grow and develop even further.”
