Jaguar F-Pace Australian prices announced, arrives Q3 2016

Brett Davis

The all-new Jaguar F-Pace, Jaguar’s first ever SUV, will go on sale in Australia during the third quarter of 2016, with prices starting at a comparatively reasonable $74,340.

Competing with the likes of Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz SUVs, the F-Pace will be offered in four main trim levels, with an impressive lineup of four different engines in Australia, giving buyers a wide range of options.

The F-Pace was revealed in production guise at the Frankfurt show a couple of months ago. It is, quite simply, one of the most stunning SUV designs around and it certainly stands out in front of the conservative German offerings.

In Australia, buyers will be offered two powerful petrol engine options, and two diesel setups. For the petrol side there’s a 3.0-litre supercharged V6 belting out 250kW, or 280kW in ‘S’ guise. This engine is called the 35t.

For those interested more in economy, the diesel lineup consists of a 2.0-litre turbo four-cylinder producing 132kW. This engine is called the 20d. There’s also a 30d 3.0-litre turbo V6 producing 221kW.

With either engine the F-Pace should provide exciting driving performance thanks to a new lightweight and rigid aluminium platform. In 20d form the SUV weighs 1775kg, with the top S version sprinting from 0-100km/h in just 5.5 seconds.

All models feature an on-demand all-wheel drive system with Adaptive Surface Response technology developed by Land Rover. Drivers are offered different drive modes, including deep snow and gravel.

It will be very interesting to see how the F-Pace does in Australia in terms of sales, especially with SUVs really booming at the moment. Standard features are also high, adding to the appeal.

See below for the starting prices (excludes on-road costs), and further below for key standard features of each variant.
