The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X and Lancer Ralliart were introduced back in 2008, with both featuring a 2.0-litre turbo four-cylinder engine (4B11). With the Evo X boasting 217kW and the Lancer Ralliart 177kW, they have serious performance capabilities, especially when coupled with Mitsubishi’s signature all-wheel drive system.
The Type 2 kit is aimed at improving both power and torque. To maximise the engine’s breathing capabilities a three-inch turbo-back exhaust is fitted, as is a high-flow air filter. The factory ECU is then reprogrammed to alter boost control, ignition timing, fuel, idle, and the intercooler water spray settings (set to automatically kick in at 105 degrees).
The car is then fine tuned and road tested to ensure maximum performance and driveability.
Completion time for the work carried out is approximately one working day.
