With the local launch of the 2014 Holden VF Commodore just over a week away now, Australia’s ANCAP has just finished crash testing it in its latest round of testing.
Consumers will be pleased to hear Australia’s latest family car is up to the finest standards in vehicle safety, with ANCAP giving it the full five-star rating. The sedan and wagon variants scored 35.06 out of 37 in the tests. ANCAP says,
“In the frontal offset crash test driver chest and leg protection was acceptable. Passenger leg protection was also acceptable. All other injury results were good in this test and in the side impact test. Head protection in the side pole test was good.”
The VF Ute and Caprice were also tested and received five stars and similar ratings. The ute scored 34.06 out of 37. Speaking of the Ute results, ANCAP says,
“In the frontal offset crash test driver chest and leg protection was acceptable. Passenger leg protection was also acceptable. All other injury results were good in this test and in the side impact test. Head protection in the side pole test was good.”
All variants come with a minimum of six airbags, stability control, reverse traffic alert, trailer stability control, and emergency stop signal as standard.
In other safety news, ANCAP has also given the new Nissan Pulsar and the new Audi A3 the full five stars. The cars were tested for the first time in the latest round of testing. The Pulsar scored 32.67 out of 37, while the Audi A3 scored 36.41 out of 37.
