Chevrolet has pulled the covers off five concepts that will sit on the bow tie brand’s stand at next month’s SEMA Show in Las Vegas. The lineup includes the Aussie-developed Chevrolet SS (Holden VF Commodore).
First up there’s our exported V8 sedan, the SS Sport concept. The Australian-built special model features Red Hot paintwork, a Chevrolet grille kit, fog lamps bezels, side guard vents, and rear spoiler, as well as gloss black 20-inch wheels (20×8.5 inches on the front and 20×9 on the rear) with Holden wheel caps. Other Holden-themed items include floor mats and boot liner. The most interesting feature is the magnetic ride control suspension, usually only available on HSV’s top dogs. There’s also rear Brembo brakes to now match the front.
One car you might recognise is the Cruze, shown here as the Cruze RS Plus concept. The RS package includes a rear spoiler and fog lamps, new chrome accents on the dash with opaque cluster bezels for a sporty appearance, as well as styled rocker mouldings. Helping the concept to standout is Wildfire Metallic paintwork, side skirts, and a rear spoiler. There’s also a Kicker sub-woofer and a powerful amplifier in the boot.
What we call the Barina here in Australia is called the Sonic in the States. The Sonic Accessories concept will step out onto the SEMA stage showcasing a host of features that are available to customers. These include white headlight and taillight rings, a black grille surround, mirror covers and rear spoiler, black 17-inch wheels, lowered suspension, unique floor mats, door sills, and sport pedals.
Chevrolet will also have a Sonic Performance concept on display, sporting a new cold-air induction kit, new high-flow exhaust, and ‘track tuned’ suspension. It’s fitted with safety items such as forward collision alert, lane departure warning, rear parking sensors, and comes standard with a total of 10 airbags.
Last but not least, the Impala Blackout concept, which uses black styling cues for the grille, rear spoiler, mirror caps, and 19-inch alloy wheels. The interior is also all black, with custom trim plates with a wire mesh pattern as well as Chevrolet stainless steel sill panels.
The SEMA Show is being held in Las Vegas from November 4-7, and is the world’s largest convention of automotive aftermarket parts and accessories.
