Bugatti Veyron insurance fraud, driver could face 20 years prison

Some might remember the strange Bugatti Veyron crash a few years back that was accidentally caught on film. The owner is now facing criminal charges on attempted insurance fraud.

Bugatti Veyron lake crash Texas

There was always something fishy about the accident, particularly as it involved the owner, Andy House, ‘accidentally’ driving into a lake. The road near the lake was mostly clear and straight and it was during broad daylight.

A passing motorist, obviously excited to see a Veyron driving along, managed to record the incident on video. This, along with other evidence, has been assessed by the owner’s insurance suppler, Philadelphia Insurance.

The company has sued Andy House for insurance fraud. It’s understood House has claimed he dropped his phone at the time of the crash and has also allegedly said a pelican flying low sent him off.

House, an exotic car yard owner, may now face criminal charges including a prison sentence of up to 20 years.

Although the act of insurance fraud is unquestionably ruthless and dishonest, destroying such a magnificent car is just downright profanity in our books. How could anyone want to drive a 736kW quad-turbo masterpiece like that into a lake?

Take a look at the video below and tell us what you think. Does it look suspicious to you?
