US-based tuning firm Bisimoto has tried its hand at the latest Hyundai Elantra GT – i30 in Australia – and created one hell of a little pocket rocket out of it. The final product has just been unveiled at the 2012 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.
Featuring a heavily tuned 1.8-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, the little i30 produces a mind-blowing 447kW of power. This is a huge increase on the standard car’s 107kW rating.
The increase comes thanks to a huge Turbonetics turbocharger feeding air through a large Spearco front-mounted intercooler, Arias forged pistons mounted to custom conrods, custom camshafts, and an AEM Series 2 EMS engine computer with IGBT coils, and an AEM water-methanol kit.
To ensure the rest of the car is up to the task of managing all that power there’s a full JNF roll cage setup inside, a full racing cockpit with bucket seats and harnesses, and a comprehensive suspension and chassis makeover.
On the outside the Bisimoto Hyundai Elantra features an ARK bodykit and a Gatorwrap custom laminated body wrap, and a set of lightweight 18 x 8.5-inch Buddy Club P1 Racing SF Challenge alloy wheels.
This is one serious i30. We can only imagine how much fun that could be had behind the wheel.
