Rolls-Royce is gearing up to introduce its first-ever SUV later this year, called the Cullinan, and has begun, it seems, to roll out the teasers. For this anticipation-builder we get a glimpse of the unique rear seating option.
Called the Cullinan Viewing Suite, the option consist of two rear-facing seats wrapped in the finest leather of course, complete with a cocktail table in the middle. The whole ensemble can be deployed at the touch of a button, adding to the relaxed and convenient nature of the car.
The idea behind the chairs is to present owners with a comfortable viewing platform for occasions where there is a spectacular view, or sporting events, or even to watch the kids during a school sports day. Rolls-Royce wants to ensure that wherever owners take their Cullinan, they will have the best seat in the house.
This is just one of many bespoke features the Cullinan will showcase. All are being spawn through a deep understanding of the lifestyles of Rolls-Royce customers, the company says. Torsten Müller-Ötvös, CEO at Rolls-Royce, said in a statement:
“The beauty of Cullinan’s Viewing Suite, the manner in which it deploys so effortlessly, the attention to detail, the finest leathers that match the interior of the customer’s Cullinan, and how it all comes together to bring beautiful furniture to the most remote places, all bear testimony to the unequalled Bespoke competence of the designers and craftspeople at the Home of Rolls-Royce.”
As far as we know, the Cullinan will be underpinned by the company’s new aluminium platform which debuted under the latest Phantom. It’s set to be powered by a 6.75-litre twin-turbo V12, like in the Phantom, producing around 420kW. And it is expected to become the most expensive brand-new SUV in the world.
