Lamborghini’s final Aventador Superveloce (SV) has a very unusual twist courtesy of another sports car maker under the same VW Group umbrella.
A client, who ordered through Lamborghini Edinburgh, Scotland, selected the signature hue from the Porsche 918 hybrid hypercar for the 600th and final SV.
Dubbed Liquid Metal Blue, the silvery colour is applied in 12 stages at a significant additional cost over and above the car. It is applied in a monochromatic theme, meaning no black carbon bits to contrast it, only the gold-coloured alloys.
According to the dealership this is the result of “months of work” including phone bills and trips back-and-forth from Scotland to Lamborghini’s Sant’Agata Bolognese factory to make sure the paint colour was just so.
The Superveloce, announced at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, offered a 50kg weight saving over the standard LP700-4, with power upped to 552kW. Lamborghini has since launched the facelifted Aventador S, with comparable performance in base spec. Other new features include four-wheel steering and four selectable driving modes courtesy of the ‘LDVA’ dial.
