Volkswagen’s successor to the Passat-based CC four-door coupe, the Arteon, has been teased clearly showing headlamp and grille details as well as rear LED and three-quarter window treatment.
Set to make its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show on March 7, the Arteon features a new grille motif for Volkswagen, with a double-layered headlight design that feeds into the grille with chrome strakes. This carries down into the lower partition via the bumper bar for a dramatic and unique look.
Finished in yellow, we can also see the Geneva-bound car will be sporting a subtle bootlid spoiler and rear lights reminiscent of those seen on the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe, albeit more squared off with different internal graphics.
Unlike the outgoing CC with a four-window design and an arching C-pillar that impinges on rear headroom, the Arteon appears to feature a six-window design that maintains a sloping roofline but allows the rear doors to have a more welcoming profile for entry/egress.
The Arteon can be expected to mirror the Passat’s powertrain options, which means 2.0-litre turbo engines with up to 206kW. A seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and either front- or all-wheel drive to choose from.
