Hyundai has enlisted the help of American rendering-house Gurnade to tease a radical Veloster concept headed for the 2016 SEMA show.
Gurnade, known for its over-the-top styling cues, has absolutely gone to town on the Veloster by the looks of it, with a carbon fibre front splitter, side sills, bonnet and diffuser and rear spoiler. Gurnade enlisted the help of Cappelletti design for the custom headlamps.
Underneath the custom body, there’s a Pierce Motorsports strut bar, rear torsion bar and tie brace, as well as 19-inch OZT forged wheels wrapped in Toyo rubber, fitted with six-piston brakes supplied by NEO Motorsport.
The mods are more than just aesthetic too; there’s an 845 Motorsports intercooler, downpipe and cold-air intake, ECU tune, performance exhaust, and of course, a blow-off valve. No specs have been revealed at this point so we’ll have to wait until it breaks the veil at SEMA.
Inside, there’s a roll cage, carbon fibre steering wheel, Cobra Nogaro racing seats and most importantly of all, a Phoenix Gold sub-woofer and amplifier. Joshua Cloud, Gurnade’s owner, expressed excitement at the collaboration, saying:
“Gurnade has always been drawn to the uniquely aggressive lines of the production Veloster. So when Hyundai approached us with the opportunity to develop one of their vehicles for SEMA, we didn’t hesitate to create the Gurnade Veloster Concept. It leverages all the strengths of the Veloster and takes it where we always envisioned it could go.”
We’ll know the performance specs and all the details when the Hyundai Veloster Gurnade hits the 2016 SEMA show which kicks off on November 1.
