Land Rover has just announced the new 2014 Range Rover Sport will be revealed during a “ground breaking live drive” through Manhattan, New York, on March 26. This will be the first time the all-new performance variant will be shown.
Without revealing specific details, Land Rover says the new model will be the fastest, most responsive and most agile model it has ever made. It will join the just-launched (in Australia) TDV6, SDV8, and the supercharged V8 variants.
The top-line version of the new Sport is expected to come with a boosted version of the supercharged V8 engine, producing in excess of the 375kW on offer in the current SCV8 model.
It’s also set to showcase a lower stance than the regular Range Rover, with unique spoilers, large alloy wheels and brakes, and a revised front end compared with the regular 2013 model.
So far, only a teaser image (above) has been released. John Edwards, Land Rover global brand director, recent spoke about the new model, saying,
“The all-new Range Rover Sport takes the model to another level. It is Land Rover’s most dynamic vehicle yet and showcases the best of British design, engineering and technological innovation.”
The unique drive will take place on the eve of the 2013 New York Auto Show, which officially opens to the public on March 29.
