Suzuki Australia announces 5-year warranty for new vehicles

Suzuki Australia is jumping up to the new industry benchmark, today confirming that all of its new and demonstrator vehicles are now covered by a five-year/unlimited kilometre warranty package.

The Japanese brand joins a range of other car brands that recently extended their warranties from the traditional three years to five years. In this case, the Suzuki coverage replaces the previous three-year/100,000km plan.

To coincide with the boost in customer peace of mind, Suzuki is also updating its five-year capped-price servicing program. Instead of the previous scheduled services taking place every six months, this is now extended to every 12 months (subject to how many kilometres are driven). That means five scheduled services at a capped price.

Suzuki says the new coverage is transferable too, so if there is any remaining warranty or scheduled services at the time of sale, the new owners receive the benefits. This, Suzuki says, should increase its desirability in the secondhand market, potentially making for an easier and quicker sale. In a statement, Suzuki said:

“The move to five years unlimited kilometre warranty will provide Australian consumers greater confidence with Suzuki automotive products, in what is already one of Australia’s leading Japanese automotive import brands with reliability and customer satisfaction alike.”

The new warranty and capped-price servicing is applied to all new and demonstrator vehicle purchases made at a Suzuki dealership from October 1.
