Japanese consumers could be getting yet another variant of the iconic Subaru WRX, following the unveiling of the WRX S4 SporVita at the Tokyo Motor Show.
The new version is making its debut at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show later this month. It’s based on the top S4 version, not sold in Australia, only it receives a distinct luxury theme.
Inside, passengers are treated to a full leather upholstery by Mario Levi in a two-tone theme, special trimmings on the dash, contrasting stitching, and piano black highlights spread throughout.
Like the regular S4 version, power comes from a new 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder producing 221kW and 400Nm. This is the engine that should and probably soon will power our local STI variant. In the SporVita it’s matched to a CVT automatic.
Other unique highlights include a set of shiny 18-inch mesh-style alloy wheels wearing 245/40 performance tyres. There’s also the Advanced Safety Package with EyeSight technology as standard.
As far as we know the luxury edition is set to hit the Japanese market only, and is likely to be sold in limited numbers. More concrete details are expected at the Tokyo show, starting October 28.
