A number of all-new utes are on the way this year, and one of the latest is the 2015 Nissan Navara ‘NP300’. It officially goes on sale in Australia next month.
Four model grades will be offered in Australia, spanning from the DX, RX, ST, to the range-topping ST-X. There’ll be a whopping 27 variants in total, with two- and four-wheel drive, diesel and petrol, and various cab arrangements.
Under the bonnet of the new diesel models is a twin-turbo-diesel ‘YS23DDTT’ engine which produces 140kW of power and 450Nm of torque. A manual and automatic is offered, depending on the variant.
All diesel models offer a 3500kg braked towing capacity, while the petrol models offer a 1588kg capacity. Payload in the tray section varies from 880kg to 1112kg. Richard Emery, Nissan Australia director and CEO, said,
“This tough, powerful and smart ute is sure to be a hit with Australians. The NP300 Navara offers the efficiency, performance and durability that pick-up buyers need as well as premium ride and interior comfort.”
All dual-cab models will hit the showroom from May, while the single cab, king cab, and dual-cab chassis versions land during the third quarter. Key highlights for each trim lever are as follows, with prices further below (excluding on-road costs):
