McLaren 570GT MSO Black Collection edition announced

McLaren’s Special Operations division, also known as MSO, has come up with a unique package for the 570GT called the MSO Black Collection. It is, obviously, very black.

Based on the 570GT, which is second from the bottom in McLaren’s Sport Series range, the Black edition comes finished in a unique Carbon Black exterior colour that was developed by MSO. It provides a deep and striking tone, giving the 570GT is sinister attitude.

To amplify its darkness MSO has applied its Black Pack to the car which replaces the Dark Palladium components and accessories. Included is a bespoke front and rear splitter, side skirts, and black air intakes in the sides. A set of five twin-spoke forged alloy wheels in Gloss Black diamond finish complete the look.

Behind the wheels you’ll notice yet more black, with black brake calipers clamping the carbon ceramic discs. Around at the back you’ll also see a titanium SuperSports exhaust system with a Nano Black finisher. The exhaust helps to cut 5kg from the 570GT’s weight and also provide a boost of 5dB in noise.

It’s not all about the exterior. MSO has given the interior the full Black Collection Trim option, including Jet Black leather with Carbon Black Alcantara trimming, with semi-aniline leather for the power-adjustable and heated sports seats. The seats feature an MSO logo embroidered on the headrests.

A panoramic glass roof with UV-filtering privacy tint adds some theatre, or buyers can option for the MSO Defined Electrochromic roof with five different degrees of tint to choose from. Lastly, there’s a special MSO Defined ignition key painted in Carbon Black to match the body. Speaking about the car, Rob Melville, design director at McLaren Automotive, said:

“McLaren Special Operations allows our customers to fully express themselves through their cars; and the new 570GT MSO Black Collection is no different. Black is a colour associated with elegance, power and authority whilst also surrounded by a certain air of mystery.”

McLaren is planning to build just 100 examples of the Black Collection edition, for sale globally, with prices starting at £179,950 in the UK. Deliveries are scheduled for mid-year.
