Hyundai pens another deal with Sony Pictures for upcoming Spider-Man film

Hyundai has scored yet another deal with Sony Pictures that will see a digital concept version of the IONIQ 6 immortalised in film.

The upcoming Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will feature a cartoonish take on the Hyundai’s Prophecy concept with a global marketing campaign set to feature its brand image.

The partnership reaches back to 2020 when Hyundai secured an exclusive deal with Sony Pictures that has seen cars like the IONIQ 5 and Tucson feature in a previous Spider-Man film, the Tucson Beast in Uncharted.

The move is extremely clever on the part of Hyundai considering the popularity of the series and Sony Picture’s seemingly endless marketing budget for younger audiences. Hyundai’s chief marketing officer, Sungwon Jee, said:

“Through our partnership, we aim to present our future mobility vision with entertainment content that younger generations love. This campaign will be welcomed by customers and we hope to build a positive momentum for the Hyundai brand.”

The new film is set to hit cinemas around the world from June this year.
