It was a drenching wet day at Wakefield Park for one of GP EXEC’s fully catered exclusive track day events. Even so, it didn’t stop every driver from thoroughly enjoying themselves, including us.
GPEXEC often run track day events, most of which take place on a racing circuit in NSW. The company is planning to expand location possibilities and it will launch its first drive tour event early next year.
Track days are perfect for anyone wanting to explore the capabilities of their vehicle within a safe and legal environment. Anybody can sign up for the days, which include access to an open track, lunch, and the opportunity to mingle with like-minded enthusiasts and check out some cool cars. All you need is a car and a current driver’s licence and you’re all set.
On the day we attended there was a supercharged E Series HSV Clubsport, a virtually standard Subaru WRX that had some suspension mods and uprated brakes – it enjoyed overtaking every two-wheel drive car in the wet – an Audi R8 V10, and a Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG.
We took along the Holden VF Commodore SS V Redline and the 2013 Lexus IS 250. Both were a lot of fun on the track, even in the wet conditions.
Take a look at the videos below for a quick demo of some of the cars and engine sounds, and an in-car lap with the Lexus IS 250.
And don’t forget to head over to GP EXEC’s website for information on upcoming track days and tours.
