Bugatti Chiron ‘110 ans Bugatti’ edition celebrates 110th anniversary

If you want exclusivity and crazy power, here’s a car just for you. It’s the Bugatti Chiron 110 ans Bugatti edition, celebrating the 110th anniversary of the storied French marque.

Yes, can you believe Bugatti is 110 years old this year? The company has perhaps one of the most interesting and longest-spanning heritages of the auto industry, especially in the area of pairing motorsport with road vehicles.

For the 110 ans Bugatti special edition, designers have created a unique tri-colour scheme featuring ‘Le Bleu-Blanc-Rouge’ for the Chiron, essentially teaming blue, while and red as a tribute to the French flag. These colours are used to decorate the exquisite interior and savage yet elegant exterior.

Most of the carbon fibre body is coated in matt Steel Blue, applied to provide a unique finish that presents like hot-rolled steel. At the front is an exposed carbon fibre apron with Steel Blue Carbon, and there are discreet French flag colours on the side mirrors and the under-side of the hydraulic rear wing. Completing the look are a set of alloy wheels painted in ‘Nocturne’ matt black, with French Racing Blue calipers hiding behind.

Inside, more of this tri-colour theme is applied. Special headrests feature the colours with embroidered French flags, while the steering wheel presents the colours for the 12 o’clock mark, with matt carbon fibre and blue leather. There’s also soft Deep Blue leather for the upholstery, with Alcantara for the door trims and sections of the seats. Speaking about the special edition, Bugatti president Stephan Winkelmann said:

“With the limited Chiron Sport ‘110 ans Bugatti’, Bugatti is ushering in the 110th anniversary of its foundation. At the same time, we are underlining our origin and our French roots in Molsheim. Molsheim in the Alsace region of France is an essential element in Bugatti’s brand history and this is also where we are planning our future.”

No changes are made to the earth-buckling 8.0-litre quad-turbo W16 engine, leaving it with the standard 1103kW power output (1500PS) – we don’t think any buyer will be complaining. Just 20 examples of the Bugatti Chiron 110 ans Bugatti are set for production, making it an ultra-exclusive edition of an already-unique hypercar.
