Sydney performance workshop Powertune has just announced on its website that it is now offering the COBB Stage 2 Plus upgrade kit for the Nissan R35 GT-R.
The Stage 2 Plus kit consists of a COBB Accessport NIS-005 V3 ECU tuning solution, the Big SF Intake System, an XLE BPV Kit (two blow-off valves), catted cast Bellmouth downpipes, an SS 3.5-inch intermediate pipe (Y-pipe), and a chrome COBB vehicle badge. Also, as part of the package your car will be hooked up with COBB’s own AccessPORT.
The COBB Stage 2 Plus upgrade is priced from $6500 (incl GST), from which you will gain approximately 50kW. If this isn’t enough, you can choose to option up to Powertune’s fuel system upgrade, which includes a set of high-flow injectors and twin fuel pumps, readying the car for E85. Running on E85, Powertune says you can expect around a 100kW gain from the COBB Stage 2 Plus kit.
If you’re after a light tune for your R35, Powertune also offers a Stage 1 kit, which involves a TCM flash upgrade and a custom tune. The Stage 1 kit is priced from $2200 (incl GST), and will add approximately 20kW.
Powertune doesn’t just offer performance upgrades for the R35 GT-R, it also offers log book servicing and a range of other maintenance services. For more information head over to the Powertune website.
Local prices for the R35 GT-R start from $172,000 for the Premium model, and $182,500 for the Black Edition (both prices exclude on-road costs). Under the skin of all new R35 GT-R models in Australia sits a 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 that produces 404kW and 628Nm, connected up to a six-speed dual-clutch auto transmission.
