Subaru in the US has released a detailed video going over the major highlights of the all-new 2015 Subaru WRX. The video reveals the new model is able to conquer 0-100km/h in just over 5.0 seconds.
With a 0-100km/h time of “just over 5.0 seconds”, acceleration is almost as quick as the outgoing STI version. It does it with a new 2.0-litre direct injected turbo four-cylinder boxer engine producing 199kW and 349Nm, at least in US specification.
The video points out the new model is lower and wider than the outgoing model, for a more prominent, sporty stance. With a wider, horizontal-oriented grille and set of headlights, the broadness is further amplified.
For the the US, a number of optional features will be part of the package when it goes on sale next year. Some of these include a 440W harman/kardon stereo system, leather seats, and satellite navigation.
In Australia, punters were invited to pre-order the car online, like in the case with the BRZ when it was launched last year. Just 100 examples are up for grabs through this service.
It’s popularity hasn’t been as high as the BRZ though. Since Tuesday when the online campaign started, just 22 examples have been ordered, according to the WRX 100 website at the time of writing. The entire 201-allocation BRZ campaign saw all snapped up in less than a day.
