Skoda Australia is introducing minor revisions and option changes for its mid-size sedan and wagon, in the form of the 2015 Octavia model year update.
All Ambition Plus, Elegance, and RS variants now come standard with a reverse parking camera, boosting the model’s overall safety. The Octavia has already been awarded the full five stars by ANCAP in recent crash tests.
Part of the already-impressive safety is down to seven airbags as standard, and nine airbags for all variants including and above the Ambition Plus. Skoda has also adopted Volkswagen’s innovative multi-collision brake technology for all models, which automatically applies the brakes upon first impact to reduce the chance of a secondary roll-on impact.
Also new for the 2015 model is a ‘New Comfort Pack’ option for the Elegance and RS versions. It brings electronically adjustable front seats, heated seats front and rear, electric folding side mirrors, and leather with red stitching for the sporty RS.
So far this year Skoda Australia has sold 1365 examples of the Octavia, resulting in a 3.7 per cent market share. It is the equal sixth best-selling model in the class, sharing with the Honda Accord. Head over to our 2014 Skoda Octavia review for more details.
