What appear to be official images of the new 2013 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 and Carrera 4S (991) have been leaked online. The new model isn’t set to make an official debut until the 2012 Paris Motor Show at the end of September.
The new 991 911 went on sale earlier this year. The four-wheel drive variant, the Carrera 4, usually hits the market a short time after. In this case, the all-paw version is expected to arrive in showrooms later this year.
Full specifications and details are of course still under wraps, however, it is very likely the 4 and 4S will be powered by the exact same engines as found in the two-wheel drive Carrera and Carrera S counterparts.
This means the base model Carrera 4 using the 3.4-litre naturally aspirated flat six producing 257kW, and the Carrera 4S powered by the 3.8-litre naturally aspirated flat six producing 294kW.
The new variants are expected to slash 0-100km/h times slightly thanks to the four-wheel grip. Both are likely to be available with Porsche’s new seven-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch PDK auto transmission.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated in regards to full details and Australian pricing in the coming weeks. The Paris show starts September 29.
