Audi Australia has introduced a model update for the 2012 Audi TT. The major change is the 1.8 TFSI and 2.0 TDI models now come standard with a seven-speed S tronic automatic transmission.
Previously only available with a six-speed manual transmission, the Coupe and Roadster versions of the TT 1.8 TFSI petrol are now standard with the S tronic, as is the TDI Coupe. A six-speed manual can still be specially ordered however.
Power outputs remain the same, with the 1.8 TFSI turbocharged four-cylinder petrol producing 118kW and 250Nm, while the 2.0 TDI – available only as a Coupe – produces 125kW and 350Nm.
Thanks to the lightweight construction of the TT (1280kg), the 1.8 petrol is able to sprint from 0-100km/h in 7.2 seconds with the S tronic, while the TDI manages it in 7.5 seconds. Average fuel economy is rated at 6.4L/100km for the TFSI, and just 5.5L/100km for the TDI.
Both variants come standard with 17-inch alloy wheels, sports seats wrapped in ‘Valetta’ leather, and paddle shifters behind the sports steering wheel for that racy driving experience.
Pricing for the new range is as follows (excluding on-road costs):
2012 Audi TT Coupe 1.8 TFSI 6 speed manual – $65,450 (special order only)
