Toyota has announced it will be unveiling an all-new concept crossover at the upcoming Paris Motor Show, called the Toyota C-HR.
The concept will preview a unique take on the C-crossover segment, showcasing an all-new design. Toyota says,
“The concept combines a bold new design language with an agile, engaging driving experience and a hybrid powertrain.”
No other details have been revealed at this stage, however, it’s believed the concept will be based on the Toyota Corolla hatch. You can see the hatch layout in the profile teaser image above.
Other sporty highlights include a roof-mounted spoiler, flash LED headlights and taillights, and a slightly swooping roofline and a raised-up body.
It does seem like a natural direction for Toyota. At the moment the smallest SUV offered in the showroom is the RAV4, with no direct rival for popular vehicles like the Hyundai ix35 and Mitsubishi ASX.
Power for the production version is expected to come from a choice of petrol and hybrid petrol units, with both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive options.
More details will of course be revealed at the Paris show which starts on October 2 (press day).
