Audi could unveil a new Audi Quattro Concept at the upcoming 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, showcasing an all-new design and a different powerplant compared with the one used in the 2010 concept.
Previewing a potential Audi Quattro Sport of the future, the new Quattro Concept is separated further from the Audi RS 5-based concept of 2010 (see white car in gallery below). The new model, as previewed by these leaked sketches, is set to be based on a revised version of the Audi RS 7 platform.
As for the specifications, official details are yet to be announced. According to reports, the new version will use a sophisticated ‘e-tron’ high-powered hybrid powertrain made up of the company’s new 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8.
Pairing the V8 power with electric propulsion is said to see output soar to around 588kW and 1000Nm. Thanks to a quattro all-wheel drive system, acceleration from 0-100km/h could come up in as little as 3.5 seconds.
Judging by these sketches, the new concept will be as aggressive as ever, suiting such a mind-blowing powertrain. The front features a number of race-like vents and intakes, as well as a gapping big central grille, while the rear looks like it will showcase a chunky diffuser and muscly haunches with a defined shoulder line.
As previously reported, a Quattro production car of some kind is on the cards and may appear some time in the next few years. More details are likely to be announced with the unveiling of this concept.
All is expected to be revealed at the Frankfurt show, starting September 10.
