Hyundai is teaming up with Bisimoto Engineering once again for the upcoming SEMA show. This time the pair is focusing on a special Tucson project.
Labelled as the most powerful Tucson ever, the Bisimoto team is planning to give the new SUV a high-boost turbocharged version of Hyundai’s 2.4-litre Theta II engine. Power is set to max out at an incredible 500kW.
The engine will be tuned to offer flex-fuel capability thanks to a special Infinity 6 engine computer, along with a boost controller and fuel pressure regulator with 2200cc injectors.
To help the engine unleash the insane power level it will come packed with Arias pistons, a Bisimoto level 2.4 cam, Golden Eagle sleeves and intake, a Kinsler fuel rail, and a Turbonetics BTX-6465 billet turbocharger. Pressure is sent through a Spearco intercooler.
Not stopping at engine mods, the project will also give the Tucson an all-new look inside and out. Plans include a custom grille, Driftmotion aluminium piping, a Denmatic design scheme, and Rhythms powder coating. A set of fifteen52 Tarmac R43 19-inch wheels complete the exterior.
For the interior, passengers get a Harman Kardon Infinity sound system with sub-woofers, a full four-point roll cage, G&J braided piping, and a Racepak IQ3 dash. There’s also a Buddy Club racing seat.
Hyundai and Bisimoto will unveil the finished product at the 2015 SEMA show in Las Vegas, running November 3-6.
