Range Rover will unveil the new 2016 Range Rover Sport HST at the New York Auto Show next month, as well as the rest of the model year updates for the Sport range.
Featuring a 3.0-litre supercharged V6 producing 280kW, the new HST will sit neatly between the current 250kW V6 and the range-topping 405kW supercharged V8.
The new model will also showcase a range of sporty highlights to separate it from the 250kW variant, including unique 21-inch dark satin alloy wheels, gloss black vents and front grille, as well as HST badging inside and out, and a red Sport label as featured on the Dynamic versions.
Inside, passengers are treated to an Oxford leather upholstery, Ebony door trims and centre console, Ebony headlining, sports pedals, and various aluminium trimmings. There’s also a TFT instrument cluster display. David Mitchell, vehicle programme director for the Range Rover Sport, said,
“The HST extends our Range Rover Sport line-up giving customers even greater choice. Sitting between the existing 250kW Range Rover Sport 3.0-litre V6 supercharged and the 405kW supercharged variant, it delivers enhanced V6 performance to go with Range Rover Sport’s renowned comfort and refinement.”
Land Rover will also reveal a variety of model year updates for the rest of the 2016 Range Rover Sport range at the New York show. Some of the updates include a Terrain Response 2 system, standard auto access height functionality, and a new Carbon Fibre option pack. The new model will go on sale during the fourth quarter of this year.
