What you see here is the Citroen DS3 Cabrio Racing Concept; a one-off concept that will debut at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed. It’s like a drop-top version of the previous DS3 Racing production car that went on sale in Europe from 2010 to 2012.
The special DS3 sees the roof peeled back like a tin of tuna for a more open-top, cabrio approach to the sporty hatch. The rag-top sees just 25kg added to the scales over the hard-roofed version.
Performance-wise, the DS3 Racing features a 151kW 1.6-litre turbocharged engine, uprated brakes, and a special carbon bodykit.
The DS3 Cabrio Racing also receives special gloss black 19-inch alloy wheels, black chrome door handles, boot trim, and mirrors, and exclusive Moondark matt grey paint.
A unique colour, Carmin red, has been used to add a dash of colour to the brake calipers, doors (vertical stripe), front spoiler, and wheel hubs.
The insides also received the once over, with bucket seats that feature three types of fabric, and an integrated baby seat that matches perfectly in sync with the rest of the trim.
For those who don’t like full-blown convertibles, the rag-top cabrio design is sure to appeal. It adds a point of difference to every other sporty hatch out there… even if it is still only a concept. There is a possibility that a production version could spawn from it down the track.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed will take place from the July 11 until 14, this weekend.
