Mitsubishi has announced some updates for the introduction of the MY2020 Outlander range in Australia, boosting safety, technology, and updating the powertrain tech.
Three main model grades are on offer, spanning from the ES, LS, to the top Exceed. These can be had in front- or all-wheel drive, depending on the variant, and with either a 2.0L petrol, 2.4L petrol, or 2.2L turbo-diesel. Again, depending on the variant. The engines carry over from the previous Outlander.
New for MY2020, forward collision mitigation (autonomous emergency braking) is now available across the board. Auto wipers and headlights are now standard on the ES 2.4L and up, while the top Exceed adds speed limit information (a first for Mitsubishi).
For the dash there’s a fresh 8.0-inch touch-screen multimedia interface, with the Exceed receiving sat-nav via TomTom software. Power lumbar adjustment is standard across the range, with redesigned rear seats for improved comfort. An additional USB port has also been added to the rear, along with climate controls.
As for the hardware underneath, the 2020 Outlander is available with Mitsubishi’s latest-gen Super All Wheel Control (S-AWC) all-wheel drive system. Drivers can select between Eco, Normal, Snow, and a new Gravel setting for optimum performance. Speaking about the updated range, Derek McIlroy, deputy director of marketing and operations, said:
“This year we’ve strengthened the range by taking customer feedback and adding additional safety, comfort and infotainment features. It’s a flexible and great value SUV.”
All MY2020 models are available in white, Starlight, Sterling silver, Titanium, black, Ironbark, and Red Diamond. It’s on sale now from the following prices (excluding on-roads):
