Lamborghini has unveiled the new Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale on the wake of the 2011 IAA Frankfurt Motor Show. The new model is the most extreme Lamborghini Gallardo yet, featuring lightweight revisions and a powerful V10 engine.
Lamborghini unveiled the new Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale last night at a Volkswagen press conference in the lead-up to the big show, wowing the audience with its dramatic new body, bright red paint and carbon fibre trimmings.
The Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale is based on Lamborghini’s Super Trofeo one-make series race car, featuring a similarly styled front bumper bar, with carbon fibre extensions, while the rear end features a comprehensive carbon fibre rear diffuser section and a rear wing.
All up, with the help of an aluminium and carbon fibre construction, the Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale weighs 70kg less than the next lightest weight Gallardo, tipping the scales at 1340kg.
In the back sits a 5.2-litre V10 outputting 419kW (562hp) at 8000rpm and 540Nm of torque available at 6500rpm. This, most powerful Gallardo engine is then backed up by Lamborghini’s e-gear six-speed paddle-shift transmission, also seen in the race car.
Other race car highlights include carbon-ceramic 365mm disc brakes with eight-piston calipers on the front, and 356mm four-piston calipers on the rear. There’s also aluminium double wishbone suspension, a rollcage, an in-car fire extinguisher and four-point harnesses with Alcantara race seats.
Only 150 examples of the Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale specials will be made. Pricing is yet to be announced but reports indicate a starting price of around £183,948 (approximately AU$281,951 with straight conversion, less taxes).
It will only be available in three colours: red, grey and white. Stunning.
