Formula One engine sound comparison: 2013 vs 2014

It seems in the wake of the first Formula One race of the season people have been complaining about the noise, or lack thereof.

Last year’s Formula One cars featured a 2.4-litre naturally-aspirated V8. This year they feature an all-new turbocharged 1.6-litre V6 that uses hybrid technology.

As you’ll hear in the video the lack of noise from the new cars is concerning, so much so that it’s reported promoters of the Melbourne race have complained directly to Formula One CEO and president, Bernie Ecclestone.

Take a listen.
