Just in case you thought the Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG was too sensible, fellow German tuning house Posaidon has released an almost unimaginable power upgrade for the outlandish off-roader.
The upgrade is more than just a bodykit and exhaust system too. Posaidon has cut a full second from the 0-100km/h time (4.2 seconds) of the stock G 63 AMG (5.2 seconds), which is hardly a slouch with its 5.5-litre twin-turbo V8 powertrain from factory.
Posaidon takes the stock G 63 AMG, with its 400kW/760Nm output, and attaches bigger turbochargers and reworks the intercooler and air intake systems for maximum efficiency. Posaidon has also fiddled around with the ECU and worked its magic on the 7G-Tronic transmission to handle the power upgrades. There is also a custom-made sports exhaust system.
Thanks to these modifications the mammoth SUV produces 610kW (830hp) and 1350Nm – also known as enough grunt to reverse the rotation of the planet.
Top speed is yet to be confirmed by Posaidon, and it depends on whether or not the electronic limiter from Mercedes is removed, which caps speed to 210km/h.
