Aston Martin has unveiled its latest model, the Vantage GT3 special edition. And you may now pick up your jaw from the floor.
The Vantage GT3 special edition features a wide carbon fiber bodykit with revised side skirts, bumpers and extended wheel arches, as well as a new aero package with a front splitter, rear spoiler and rear diffuser.
Described by Aston Martin as the “most potent and uncompromising Vantage to date”, power from the 5.9-litre V12 has been upped to 441kW with 625Nm of torque. The powertrain is connected to the rear wheels via a seven-speed automated manual transmission, taking the GT3 from 0-100 in 3.7 seconds, and onto a top speed of 297km/h.
The GT3 also features a carbon fiber hood, a black mesh grille, ceramic-coated tailpipes, and rides on 19-inch forged alloy wheels with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres.
Aston Martin has gone the whole nine-yards on the Vantage GT3, with the car being 100kg lighter than its replacement, the Vantage S. The GT3 has been been fitted with a lithium-ion battery, carbon fiber door casings, with the option of a carbon fiber roof and polycarbonate rear window to save even more weight.
The Vantage GT3 also features a completely revised suspension setup, with new springs and dampers, and a redesigned Adaptive Damping System with three settings: Normal, Sport and Track. Aston Martin has utilised magnesium for its inlet manifolds and torque tube, with carbon fiber for the drive shaft for pure strength and lightness, and a titanium exhaust system. There is also a new set of Brembo carbon ceramic brakes, and a limited-slip differential.
Inside there is a new carbon fiber central console with touch-sensitive controls, as well as an Alcantara steering wheel and new carbon fiber sports seats. The Vantage GT3 also comes with an infotainment system and GPS navigation.
You better be quick however, production of the Vantage GT3 is capped at 100 units, with deliveries expected to begin in the third quarter of this year.
