The W221 Mercedes-Benz S-Class is a behemoth of a car in standard form. Automotive tuner Prior Design has developed the Black Edition V3 Widebody kit for those who want an even chunkier look.
The Black Edition V3 Widebody kit is everything but subtle. The package consists of a new front bumper, a front lip spoiler, a new rear bumper which includes a diffuser, side skirts, new wider front guards, rear widenings, mesh grille inserts, and a sporty boot lip spoiler.
If that’s not enough, they also have a more-aggressive bonnet available that flows in nicely with the wider front guards and overall look of the V3 Widebody kit. The tuner has a range of wheels available, as well as exhaust systems, suspension kits, and a host of options to customise the interior.
Prior Design is asking 4190 euros (approximately AU$6000) for the Black Edition V3 Widebody kit and 1800 euros (approximately AU$2600) for the bonnet. All body parts supplied come with a smooth finish for easy paint preparation as well as all the correct mounting material, with no cutting or modifying required.
The W221 S-Class was produced from 2005 to 2013. Some of the models to hit Australia were the S 350, S 500, and the S 63 and S 65 AMG performance models. All cars except the S 65 AMG (five-speed automatic) came with a seven-speed automatic and measured over five metres in length. Our pick would be the 6.2-litre V8 S 63 AMG, punching out 386kW and 630Nm for a 0-100km/h time of just 4.6 seconds.
