Audi has released a special edition R8 to celebrate its history at the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans. Welcome to the R8 Coupe V10 plus selection 24h.

The special edition road car is designed as a tribute to the GT3-class R8 LMS’ debut victory at Le Mans, and 323 race wins since 2009.

The special edition model is based on the latest R8 V10 plus, and comes with the standard 5.2-litre V10 producing 449kW. It propels the car from 0-100km/h in just 3.2 seconds and onto a top speed of 330km/h… Or in other words, it’s the fastest road-going Audi to roll out of the factory.

The V10 plus 24h was developed alongside the race version GT3 R8 LMS, and luckily benefits from a new quattro system, suspension and aerodynamic kit, with attention paid on improving downforce and cornering grip more than anything else.

Special touches to the exterior include a new carbon fibre front splitter, engine cover, rear wing and rear diffuser, finished in gloss black. The side blades have a matte finish, while the 10-spoke Y-design 20-inch aluminium alloys have a gloss black finish.

Audi’s space frame, produced with aluminium and carbon fibre-reinforced polymers, weighs just 200kgs and helps to bring dry weight down to 1454kg.

Audi is offering the selection 24h with its technical package, which adds dynamic steering, magnetic adaptive dampers and Audi’s cool new laser lighting system.

Audi will began taking orders for the special edition R8 today, but with only 24 units planned, they’re almost certainly gone. Just in case you were wondering, it’ll set you back (in Germany) €229,000.
