The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is an amazing car, no matter the colour. This owner wanted more though, and had the AMG Performance Studio in Affalterbach strip it back to its bare bones, and painted in Yosemite Blue, with a satin finish.
As most car enthusiasts would know, it’s an expensive task to do a complete colour change on a vehicle. Everything needs to be stripped, and the panels need to be prepped – a timely task. But not when you have several busy bees blasting around the workshop with all the right tools, and knowledge.
Our understanding is the AMG Performance Studio team did this as an example of what can be done in their studio. The AMG Performance Studio is said to give owners an opportunity to tailor their vehicle as a special request. Certainly nice to know if you want to build yourself a custom Merc’.
If you’re a fan of the Yoseimite colour, apparently the only way you can get it is by going through a custom process like this. And if you have the coin, why not?
