Looking a little bit like something out of a Transformers film, Lexus has revealed its new LF-NX SUV before its Frankfurt Motor Show debut next week. The concept previews a new compact SUV which has been known to be in the pipeline.
The upcoming SUV, which will eventually rival the likes of the Audi Q3, BMW X1, and Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class, has been rumoured to be named the Lexus ‘NX’. With the concept featuring an ‘LF-NX’ badge, it seems like a likely avenue.
As for the design, it’s certainly a sharp-looking piece of gear, with muscly wheel arches front and rear, a diamond-shaped belt line, and a coupe-like cabin glasshouse.
The design also incorporates Lexus’s distinctive spindle grille layout in the front end with LED daytime running lights, while at the back there’s a set of stylised light clusters that are projected downwards for an aggressive look.
Specifications on the LF-NX are being withheld until the full unveiling, however, the company says it will feature a powerful hybrid powertrain. There’s also been reports of a new 2.0-litre turbo four-cylinder on the way, which could potentially debut with this concept.
All will be revealed on September 10. Stay tuned for more details.
