PerformanceDrive has just picked the new 2012 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X MR ready for review. The facelifted MY12 gets a few minor trimming updates, more technology and safety on the inside, as well as chunky new Recaro bucket seats.
With dual-clutch automatic-based transmissions becoming more and more popular these days – being quicker and more fuel efficient in most cases – our 2012 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X MR test car is fitted with Mitsubishi’s TC SST (Sport Shift Transmission) twin-clutch option.
As you’ll see in our short test drive video impression of the 2012 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X MR, the updated model is almost faultless in the corners thanks to the Bilstein struts and Eibach springs, and it still offers plenty of no-fuss acceleration.
The same 2.0-litre MiVEC turbocharged four-cylinder engine resides in the engine bay as the 2011 model year. It produces 217kW of power and 366Nm of torque, and is good for 0-100km/h in the low five-seconds range.
Inside, the model update comes with a reverse camera on all models, as well as a new electronic chromatic rear vision mirror with monitor. The interior also features gloss black trimming, leather-accented upholstery and Recaro front bucket seats.
Stay tuned for our full 2012 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X MR review. We will have it up as soon as possible.
